    Smile Nvidia Fx5500 in bt5 r1 64bits

    I have a Nvidia FX5500 card, which is poor compatibility
    BT5 r1 operating in 64 bits, giving a resoulução a maximum of 720x576 screen, computer monitor, 17 '.

    I've tried text mode install the proprietary driver, but the error. Before you log on startx in terminal type:
    1º chmod +x
    shows errors.

    Open you favorite your text editor,
    Look for you "GRUB" configuration and add "nouveau.modeset=0" so the Nouveau will not load at boot. So in the next reboot just do your Nvidia installation.

    "menuentry 'Ubuntu, with Linux'..........
    ....vga=771 text splash vga=791 nouveau.modeset=0......" this is an example, add the nouveau setting after the text splash settings.

    You can also edit this from the live CD in case your system doesn't boot X.
