    Default > Menu.1st ; Error 15: File not found

Dual boot installing 64-bit KDE Backtrack5 from harddisk using unetbootin
The system is running Windows 7 at the moment.

After running untbootn and rebooting, then selecting to boot UNetbootin
System gives an Error 15: File not found.

    Windows 7 still boots fine.

Running command sudo grub gives Error 27: Unrecognized command
Running command find /grub/menu.1st finds nothing
Running command find /menu.1st finds nothing
Running command find /root/grub/menu.1st continuously repeats command

I downloaded backtrack 5 on a different computer and burned the file to a dvd. Then ran unetbootin and loaded the .iso from the dvd.
    UNetbootin ran smoothly.
I'm theorizing that downloading backtrack straight to the PC I want to install it on and running it that way may solve my problem, so I'm doing that now, however I'm probably completely wrong and could use some advice from more experienced users.

Does anybody have a fix for this problem, or anything I can try?

Had the same "issue" trying to customise boot of Eee PC 1005PEB. A quick search of the forums using keyword "menu.lst" revealed the answer.

BT5 appears to use grub2 not grub, the config file is now /boot/grub/grub.cfg. a quick "nano /boot/grub/grub.cfg" shows that you should not edit the file directly as it is generated by "/usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig".
