Default 8 Gig thumb drive question

I am using an 8 gig thumb drive with persistence.
Lately i have been getting disk space errors i.e. only x amount of space left on root, do you want to run conqueror to clear some space.

I partitioned the drive as per the document on this site (2.5G and 5.5G) and am wondering why the space is been used so quickly ? Also what is the point of the linux partition and can i save new updates to this partition. This is probably a basic question but any help is appreciated.

    thanks hh

The only person that knows why space has been used so quickly is you. We have no idea what you've been using the device for or what's been stored on it etc.
I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.

I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.

    Standard gnome 64bit bt5 fills the thumbdrive...same "problem" here...switch to a 16gb
    It's not a problem...
