I'm having a lot of trouble to make my alfa work under vmware/bt4.
When I insert it in VM, it automatically loads the rtl8187 driver, and past this point my VM hangs every 10 seconds or so for about 2 secs. This is the 1st issue.
When trying to access it I have : "ioctl(SIOCSIFFLAGS) failed: Unknown error 132"

I can't even get it to go up, I've read several other forum posts on the same topic and tried without success :

rmmod rtl8187
rfkill block all
rfkill unblock all
modprobe rtl8187
rfkill unblock all
ifconfig wlan0 up
The "modprobe" hangs and never returns. I have to disconnect the usb device from host to get it exit. If I rmmod every driver, and plug the device, it loads rtl8187 but if i try to "ifconfig wlan0 up" it hangs forever..

Definitely a driver issue I guess but that's strange because I don't think i'm the only one using this exact same config...

Any help greatly appreciated.

My conf :
- backtrack 4 R2 running in VMWare workstation 7
- wifi : AWUSH036H

ps : r8187 fails either.
