I'm pretty new to linux and backtrack. After trying to crack my WEP network the first time i discovered that my network card did not support packet injection. So i've bought a Linksys WUSB54GC yesterday, that arrived today.

Now of course i want to use that adapter to crack the wep key with. Problem is that backtrack still uses my old network card. When i type lsusb the new adapter is listed as should;

Bus 002 Device 002: ID 1737:0077 Linksys

but in the list that appears when i type airmon-ng the following is the only one listed;

Interface Chipset Driver

wlan0 Atheros ath9k - [phy0]

The usb adapter has as chipset Ralink RT73 and the listed one does not support packet injection and thus is the one listed above not my adapter.
In short: How do i select my usb wireless adapter (Linksys WUSB54GC) to be used?

Thanks for any feedback.

I had problems installing the drivers on w7 also, but i finally succeeded, so they should work fine.
