    Default Help Installing BT4 to hard drive on Acer AOD250

    I'm trying to install BT4 onto the hard drive of my Acer AOD250-1289. I downloaded the DVD ISO and used UnetBootin to put it on a usb drive. This worked fine and I can boot the machine off it and everything works great! I am trying to use the install GUI on the desktop the I go through the wizard and yes I do get the time error thing at the beginning that everyone says to just continue past. I am using guided partition as this will be the only thing installed on the this machine. everything looks fine until it go through the partitioning for a while after the install gui is all done it gets to 5% stays there for a while then i get installer crashed.

    traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 229, in <module> main()
    File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 224, in main install(args[0])
    File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity", line 68, install ret =
    File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity/frontend/", line 437, in run self.progree_loop()
    File "/usr/lib/ubiquity/bin/ubiquity/frontend/", line 828, in progress_loop "/var/log/syslog" % ret)
    RuntimeError: install failed with exit code 1; see /var/log/syslog

    well that syslog doesn't show much else.

    Start here.

    Might also want to check the source download's md5sum as well.
