i don't know if youll need it but when i installed bt4pre on my
VmWorkstation i had a problem with mysql ...
so here is some fixes...
first : if you get a connection error
something like: "Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock’ (2)"
here is a fix:

1. sudo ln -s /etc/mysql/my.cnf /etc/my.cnf
2. /etc/init.d/mysql restart
(thank you : Solutions Knowledge Base )

then you can jast use: mysqld

the BT4 pre comes with configured mysql as i can see
so if you try to set a password for root
(mysqladmin -uroot password whatever)
you get an error of :

error: 'Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: NO)'

so here is the catch
user: root

so jast use: mysqladmin -uroot -ptoor password ********

hope it saved some one some time
