When running db_nmap I manage to identify some OS but it seems like the identification doesn't always show up in the DB (SQLite3/default) when running db_hosts command.
But sometimes it does... for example when running the smb version scanner (and the scanner finds anything related), then it shows up but not with db_nmap. For example: One of the hosts found while running db_nmap -sSV -O (Syn-scan, version-scan and OS detection) is a Linux 2.6.x which is correct, but it doesn't show up in the database. Is that because it doesn't know the exact version? In my opionion it would be better to write 2.6.x than nothing. Or is the db_nmap behaving false? Or have I got hold of the wrong end of the stick/misunderstood something?
