Install VMware Player

Installing VMware Player in BackTrack5

  • First we need to go to the official site and download VMware Player.
  • Make the file executable: 
root@bt:~# chmod a+x VMware-Player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
root@bt:~# ./VMware-Player-3.1.4-385536.i386.bundle
  • Our installer should have started:

  • Let's follow the installer with the default options until we see that the install is finished:

  • Once the installer is finished you can launch VMware player from Applications Menu -> System Tools -> VMware Player
