Aircrack-ng inconsistent by machine?

Aircrack works on some machines but not others?? Here's my example:

Both test machines:
1. Same USB key w/ BT3
2. Same dictionary file - there's one single entry..my key.
3. Same capture file

machine 1 -
aircrack-ng -w key.lst -b 00:17:9A:46:33:B7 file-01.cap

The above returns the correct key in "key.lst"

machine 2 -
aircrack-ng -w key.lst -b 00:17:9A:46:33:B7 file-01.cap

The above says : Passphrase not in dictionary

I am looking for help as to why this could be?

Interesting problem.

The problem is "computers"

You say it works on some machines and not others. are the machines identical?

Are you also using the same aircrack-ng versions on both machines?

Yup - it's the exact same USB key. Same version of Aircrack, same everything. The machine it works on is a Dell laptop. The machine it doesn't work on is an HP "Workstation" machine w/ SATA drives. I have that sata drive formatted as ext3.

They have exactly the same wireless card? Brand/Model/Revision ?

I'm doing the capture on the laptop - then was attempting to use the desktop to crack. It's a RAID0 system with 4 gigs memory and a core Duo..nice for cracking.
