Usually you can use the locate command
    bt~#locate lilo
    /etc/lilo.conf
    /var/log/setup/text.lilohelp
    /var/log/setup/setup.liloconfig
    /var/log/packages/lilo-22.7.1-i486-2
    /var/log/scripts/lilo-22.7.1-i486-2
    /usr/man/man5/lilo.conf.5.gz
    /usr/man/man8/lilo.8.gz
It should look something like the above once you hit enter.

The /etc/lilo.conf should be the one you want to edit
    just use
    bt~#nano lilo.conf
Also as .lonewolf pointed out search the threads he listed.
