Settings changes to a static place?

On this computer, When I plug in my USB stick, with BT3 on it. If I load it up with persistent changes, Its set to changes=/dev/sda2. But, I went to my cousins house today, and it detects the usb key as /dev/sdb2. So, the changes dont work, and it makes folders on their hdd instead of on the second partition of the USB. Any ideas?

Umm edit the settings and do it manually and accordingly?

It seems your computer does not have any USB/SATA/SCSI storage drives henceforth linux assigned it as /dev/sda and when you go to your mate's place. It seems like they have either USB/SATA/SCSI storage drives.. when linux detects that it will automatically reassign itself to /dev/sdb or whatever the next available letter is after all the other USB/SATA/SCSI storage devices has been detected.

You could try disabling their hard drive in BIOS, unplug power to the hard drive from their computer and what not, but you will be wasting your time. Its alot more ideal if you edit the settings by hand.
