Windows Vista wont boot

After doing a dual install, my Vista wont boot. Any help would be appreciated

You need a windows section in your lilo .

It needs to look something like this no you will have to make some changes this, to fit your setup

 
    * #windows bootable partition config begins
    * other = /dev/hda1
    * label = WindowsXP
    * table = /dev/hda
    * #windows bootable partition config ends

or you can use vista's boot manager to boot into BT...

grab the boot sector of and use this to boot into BT. prob easiest way is using something like vistabootpro or easybcd... google for the specific how-to.

Maybe so but it seems to me doing the dual boot and following the tutorial movie made by muts (bt developer) located here on the wiki:

Would be easier than getting a third party boot program or whatever.

IMHO using bt would be easier since the op probably already has it ??


Also if there is a problem then the op can get help here on the forums. But this will be harder if there are third party apps that others are unfamiliar with.

these tools are actually just front ends to bcdedit, which manages the bootloader for vista...you dont *need* another tool to do it (but for win ppl gui's are easy)

but good point. and he has already overwritten the boot sector so staying with lilo would be easy
