1) There is a HUGE thread under Tutorials and Guides about which card should you buy. If you browse through amongst the newbs asking questions, you will see people posting tips on determining if a card is suitable for linux or not.
2) No it will not work with monitoring/injection, it has a shitty Marvell chipset.
