You need to tell litter more about your “black- green screen”
Alright, the screencap you included shows you at the BT login screen. Login as root and type startx.
thou shalt treat all computers as thou wouldst treat thyself, for thou art the creator of thine own problems.
i type startx on the screen but after awhile it just flashes the screen and nothing happens i will post a video of what occurs.. so i can better inform you guys
thank you for your help
Type root then toor
then startx and you should start seeing backtrack load up..
post back screen shot or more NFO if you don't end up at the desktop..
Again, this has been covered numerous times. Type fixvesa before issuing startx to see if you can get a gui. lspci -nnv and post the output of what type of video card you are using also helps to resolve issues. If you are running an ATI card, try here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonDriver It's how I got my Radeon 9250, 9600 and 9800 running.
