BCM4312 Dell Inspiron 1545 Wifi Help

I set up BT4 (HDD install), started networking, ran ifconfig and no wifi devices are listed.

I ran lspci -knn and found my card to be Broadcom BCM4312. It says that the kernel modules are: wl. The driver in use: b43-pci-bridge.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Hi.
I'm having some trouble getting my wifi to work. Not that I've given up quickly, I've been trying to fix it for the past few hours. I have tried some fixes and searched around google for a long time but I haven't really gotten anything useful out of it. Also, I did follow the guide on how to start networking but I can't seem to get it to work.

My Internet card is a Broadcom BCM4312 rev 01. Any help is very appreciated!

Try this:

ifconfig -a

See if your card appears on the output and if it does, use:

ifconfig <interface> up

Thank you for your response, but I can only see eth0, irda0 and lo. I cannot see any wlan0 which I would say is the wifi(?). That is mainly my problem. I think it has something to do with BT that cannot see my network card, and that's pretty much what I've been looking for fixes for. As we speak, I'm connected to WWW via my ethernet, but I'd like to use my wifi for that.

I was not able to surf on wireless before but now, with dell inspiron 1545, it works like a charm. I advise u just to follow what is said here : Update your kernel, install the last one. I was stuck during many weeks, I did it and the kernel found it during the loading process.
I d like to the BackTrack team for all they have done.

I have dell 1545 .(dell wireless Half mini card) BCM4312.
i am not able to capture the wireless packets using aircrack. but the wireless utility shows the available networks.
any particular help regarding this card.
