hey,
today i bought myself an external usb wifi adapter, in my laptop (acer aspire 5670 backtrack 3 hd install) is an intel pro wireless 3945 adapter installed.
now my question is: can i combine these 2 adapters to crack a wep key?
in example: one is monitoring and injecting and the second is pure injecting.
thanks in advance.
ps. i just started using backtrack and aircrack utility's so im kinda noob![]()
ok that's nice, can you perhaps tell me how?
i think it is when the 2 adapters are called wifi0 & wifi1 then:
aireplay-ng -3 -b [ap mac] -h [wifi0 mac] wifi1
and then run airdodump on wifi0
am i correct?
Application of common sense would the first place to start.
Have you tried it?
Did it work ?
Answer obtained, no need for question.
So much of all of backtrak is going to be try it and see what happens. Whether that succeeded or failed and then what you learnt from that. That is why you don't see many senior members asking question, because they are prepared to try and fail and learn from that, and do their research.
That's quite true.......
But anyway, think about it logically and just start 2 separate sessions, one per card, each doing the part it needs to, according to your scenario.
Incidentally, what you describe was actually the original method (almost) that many of us started with - the 2x card scenario for simultaneous sniff/inject![]()
