i have been using the trial version of proxyway to verify

    http://www.proxyway.com/www/downloads/

of course its kind of annoying because you have to uninstall/reinstall the program every 15 days.

I also use this website to find various proxies:

Is there nothing decent for linux?

Its been a long time since I've had anything to do with proxies and proxy verification. Charon is always one of the one's I heard a lot about how great it is. I never really liked it that much but thats just my opinion. I used accessdiver for almost all my proxy needs, it is a much more indepth program and can do a lot more than simple proxy verification. I used to think that the government proxy removal was some magical thing until I understood IP addressing and the different classes. Its nothing really that special but useful nonetheless. The only real downside to many proxy verifying programs is the slowness you get from loading very large proxy lists. This opted me to write my own program. Its unfinished because of the drastic changes in proxy verification at the time. Pretty much made all the code that I had written obsolete and I was too disappointed to rewrite everything.

Keep in mind I haven't done much with proxies since the cgi-bin proxy judges went out of style.

As for getting new lists just use google and search around, you'll eventually run into several sites that keep lists updated regularly.

Yeah, you will be pretty hard pressed to find any cgi-bin judges that still work.

I think most of the new ones are mainly php based, accessdiver had lists already loaded into the program. I'm assuming it still does.

From the last time I actually used accessdiver the lists were half and half between the php and the AZ type proxy judges. I really don't know which ones really caught on and are used more than the other.

I almost always categorized SOCKS 4/5 and regular proxies seperately since they are fairly different in theory.

thnx xploitz...this seems like it is much more efficient than what I have been using.

if i can ask, how do these programs filter out government proxies?

There's an IP address range reserved for government use.

If I can ask, what is to keep a gov agency from purchasing a commercial IP from an ISP?

Sorry for being a stickler about this, but people I have met at hacker cons have always railed against public proxies, and I am trying to understand both sides of the argument.

    Thanks.
