Wlan0 cant inject? freezes upz
i have a toshiba satellite x205-#### (forgot numbers but there's only 2 205's
), and on bt3 it shows a wlan0 (and wmaster of course). what chipset is this and how do I inject and capture packets with it for use with wesside-ng and more importantly... aircrack suite?

would find it myself but too busy with work... prob cheaper to buy a card w/ atheros than tinker with drivers and google

nah its not like that... when i joined back in 2006... I helped many people here.. me and markds.. we helped the most people IN this forum put together.. prob like 90% of people and solved their problems.. i'm just talking from the old experience.. but things may have changed...Well since our helpfulness is not up to your standards and your to busy to research the problem yourself I guess you are SOL
im not mad.. i just don't have time.. im at work now but I will make time.. and for people with the problem if I REALLY have time i'll make a post on how to get it to work.

The problem is you need to unload the illwifi drivers and load the ipwraw drivers in order to get the ipw3495 to inject.
That explains alot.. so it is the ipw3495.. wasn't sure what chipset or what exactly it was. In fact i dont even have time to mess with bt 3 or 2 for that matter nowadays :-/

I will try it tomorrow or something as I prob won't have time tonight.. but I should've noted when I did inject on first.. or at least use wesside I believe the whole computer would freeze. I will give this method of yours a try though and get back with results

so u solved 90% of the forums problems and you dont even know what network card is in ure lappy...
anyways you may still experience the same results even with the ipwraw drivers installed, never worked too good for me and froze alot, really if u want to inject/capture buy sumthing with a atheroes chip, its really not worth the time on the ipw3945 and injection and capturing even when working properly can be extremly slow.. still cant belive people are cracking wireless, WPA2 it up with a strong password that aint going to be brute forced.

my field is computers... computer network specialist to be exact... im in college now. I fell out of linux like a year or more ago when I quit posting here, and just took up some great lessons mostly windows based from an ex government contractor (he did jobs for them) who is friends with lucky225. During that time again i haven't used nothing linux... i basically stopped at backtrack 1. had 2 but never tinkered... and at that time or a bit before is when i quit here. Now being in college i'll get back into it... hey i even like programming.... again... so everything is possible then
@phed1 i will probably look for an atheros... or get my old dell latitude from my dad that i had back in the day with backtrack that has an orinoco gold and netgear a/b/g (old now huh?)
