I mean i can set ip up on windows or some Linux OS's its just that on bactrack it doesnt reconize my NIC
Since you have done it before in linux then that means you can

Since bt3 is based of slackware this book will give you lots of help in setting up your network.
And since you were so vague in what your problem is/was then more help can not be offered.

Your device probably isn't supported. What kind of network card do you have? There is nothing wrong with learning Linux from backtrack; I learned a lot that way.

My NIC is compatible with any OS but I got it working Im using BackTrack on VMware and it works perfectly
