Your not looking for libgnutls.so.26, your looking for libgnutls.so.13.
Type into konsole:
This is a list of all the shared libraries Wireshark needs to use in order to function. Your missing libgnutls.so.13. My output of this command is the following:Code:ldd /usr/bin/wireshark
I have libgnutls.so.13 => /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13 (0xb6430000) in my output, the file is in my directory; therefor Wireshark works for me. You can see here that libgnutls.so.13 is linked to /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13. So what you need to do is give me a copy/paste of your output on the following command:Code:bt / # ldd /usr/bin/wireshark linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000) libwiretap.so.0 => /usr/lib/libwiretap.so.0 (0xb7ed5000) libwireshark.so.0 => /usr/lib/libwireshark.so.0 (0xb6a7e000) libpcre.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpcre.so.0 (0xb6a5e000) libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 (0xb671d000) libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 (0xb669a000) libatk-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libatk-1.0.so.0 (0xb6680000) libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 (0xb666a000) libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xb6643000) libpangocairo-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpangocairo-1.0.so.0 (0xb663b000) libpango-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpango-1.0.so.0 (0xb65fe000) libcairo.so.2 => /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2 (0xb6588000) libgobject-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgobject-2.0.so.0 (0xb654f000) libgmodule-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgmodule-2.0.so.0 (0xb654c000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xb6548000) libgthread-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgthread-2.0.so.0 (0xb6544000) librt.so.1 => /lib/librt.so.1 (0xb653c000) libglib-2.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libglib-2.0.so.0 (0xb64a8000) libgnutls.so.13 => /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13 (0xb6430000) libgcrypt.so.11 => /usr/lib/libgcrypt.so.11 (0xb63df000) libgpg-error.so.0 => /usr/lib/libgpg-error.so.0 (0xb63db000) libz.so.1 => /usr/lib/libz.so.1 (0xb63c7000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/libpthread.so.0 (0xb63b0000) libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xb626d000) libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib/libX11.so.6 (0xb6185000) libXfixes.so.3 => /usr/lib/libXfixes.so.3 (0xb6180000) libfontconfig.so.1 => /usr/lib/libfontconfig.so.1 (0xb6155000) libXext.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXext.so.6 (0xb6147000) libXrender.so.1 => /usr/lib/libXrender.so.1 (0xb613e000) libXinerama.so.1 => /usr/lib/libXinerama.so.1 (0xb613b000) libXi.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXi.so.6 (0xb6133000) libXrandr.so.2 => /usr/lib/libXrandr.so.2 (0xb612d000) libXcursor.so.1 => /usr/lib/libXcursor.so.1 (0xb6124000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb7f35000) libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpangoft2-1.0.so.0 (0xb60f8000) libfreetype.so.6 => /usr/lib/libfreetype.so.6 (0xb608b000) libpng12.so.0 => /usr/lib/libpng12.so.0 (0xb6050000) libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0xb6039000) libxcb-xlib.so.0 => /usr/lib/libxcb-xlib.so.0 (0xb6037000) libxcb.so.1 => /usr/lib/libxcb.so.1 (0xb601f000) libexpat.so.1 => /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1 (0xb5fff000) libXau.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXau.so.6 (0xb5ffc000) libXdmcp.so.6 => /usr/lib/libXdmcp.so.6 (0xb5ff7000)
Goodluck and dont forget to give me any errors you encounter. I havent came across this error before, so all info is useful.Code:ldd /usr/bin/wireshark
EDIT: I just noticed that I missed out the part when you said you uninstalled Wireshark. Please tell me what procedures you used, you may have deleted any files or/and links that did exist for Wireshark in your lib...everything should have been there. Strange, you sure you didnt delete any files and didnt know what you where doing?
Download libgnutls.so.13 again if you need to and move it into the lib. You can get the file here: rpmfind.net. Make sure you choose the correct platform. Also here is the requirements for Wireshark incase your wondering how or why these libraries work, maybe do some Googling: Another rpmfind.net page

Chances are m8 i prob removed it (sleeping on keyboard in work is usually howi delete stuff).
Tried the websites m8 no joy installing (cd in , ./configure , make , make install)
Could you pm the file m8 , i will try that then if no joy reinstall deleting winblows for ever![]()
its a bug with wireshark I just copied /usr/lib/libgnutls.so and renamed it to libgnutls.so.13 and it worked![]()
Its won't work for me to renamed libgnutls.so to libgnutls.so.13..Thanks The_Denv it solve that pb..Blindbat..download libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.rpm to root and
Blindbat you no need to remove and reintalls wireshark...Code:bt ~ # rpm2tgz libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.rpm bt ~ # tgz2lzm libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.tgz libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.lzm bt ~ # lzm2dir libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.lzm /
Not a problem rokrmc, thanks for providing the 2nd part of the solution to this problem..which is downloading libgnutls13-32bit-2.0.1-20.x86_64.rpm
and moving it to the correct directory.
If Blindbat follows both my post and rokrmc's post he will be able to solve this Wireshark bug. It might be a bug, but I have never encountered it. Thanks for pasting your output Blindbat. From what I can see you simply deleted the file by mistake..[or it could be a bug as Dr_GrEen pointed out].
This is all you need to know to get it solved, but dont get embarrassed if you get stuck and need our help
Hope you get it sorted mate![]()
Its also fix winexe when i use when i use fastrack for Spawn Command Shell it show (winexe: error while loading shared libraries: libgnutls.so.13: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory)..so i read this thread and solve my pb..Thanks again The_Denv...![]()
Thanks everyone for your help it worked a treat problem solved.
Special thanks to The_Denv and rokrmc for spoonfeeding me.

I say bugbut in saying that the last time i used wireshark was about 2 weeks ago and since then i have slapt-get --upgrade. Iam just annoyed i dont check what all was being upgraded so i could rule that out and then i could really slap myself and say stop messing about with things
so let that be a lesson to everyone
