    Default wireshark error libgnutls.so.13

Iam getting this error when starting wireshark
    Code:
wireshark: error while loading shared libraries: libgnutls.so.13: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    Hdd install
    BT3Beta
    Acer Aspire 5502Z

Wireshark had been working with no problem. Slap-get --update then slap-get --upgrade done last week (forget what all were updated iam a noob ). No new installs of programs since --upgrade

    Searched the forums
Searched google found reinstall of gnutls may fix but no joy.
Uninstalled wireshark and reinstalled no joy

All posts welcome even to tell me iam a noob , wipe and start again

You might want to try and link your recent libraries.

    Type in Konsole:

    Code:
    ldconfig
    Reference: ldconfig Man page

    No problem

Your not looking for libgnutls.so.26, your looking for libgnutls.so.13.

    Type into konsole:

    Code:
    ldd /usr/bin/wireshark

I have libgnutls.so.13 => /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13 (0xb6430000) in my output, the file is in my directory; therefor Wireshark works for me. You can see here that libgnutls.so.13 is linked to /usr/lib/libgnutls.so.13. So what you need to do is give me a copy/paste of your output on the following command:

    Code:
    ldd /usr/bin/wireshark
Goodluck and dont forget to give me any errors you encounter. I havent came across this error before, so all info is useful.

EDIT: I just noticed that I missed out the part when you said you uninstalled Wireshark. Please tell me what procedures you used, you may have deleted any files or/and links that did exist for Wireshark in your lib...everything should have been there. Strange, you sure you didnt delete any files and didnt know what you where doing?

Download libgnutls.so.13 again if you need to and move it into the lib. You can get the file here: rpmfind.net. Make sure you choose the correct platform. Also here is the requirements for Wireshark incase your wondering how or why these libraries work, maybe do some Googling : Another rpmfind.net page
