Not sure of the problem your having so give this a try.
Google grub manual..
The BT4-Final.ISO DVD works perfectly on my two PC,s but it will not boot on my Laptop computer yet Ubuntu 9.04 and 9.10 work perfectly on the same laptop.
The boot stops at grub> and I am unable to find out why? I have done a MD5 check on the dvd and it is ok
Is there some one out there to point me inthe direction for the grub config?

You can try booting it from USB, thus eliminating possible problems like low quality DVD's or burning app problems.
I'm thinking the usb attempt is your best chance. If it's the version of grub, not working with the bios on your laptop, with the usb you can attempting using an older version, or installing syslinux instead. UNETBOOTIN should automatically handle the syslinux install. Just be careful. After the initial install of syslinux, it can be alloying to get the usb to even look in another place for the .cfg. Let alone use grub, so if you want to try an older gurb, do it first. If you want to try your luck with syslinux, remember to use the -d switch, and to alter the contents of menu.lst, and the name to syslinux.cfg. (not big alterations, just some key words, and bootsplash to MENU BACKGROUND, plus decompressing the .xpm.gz to a jpg or png, and changing the dimensions if you want it to fit better. Me being a loser, used the default desktop background as my syslinux background at usb boot, ^_^, lol... oh, and if you want to do that change the colors of the image too. It's all in the syslinux wiki.)
Have fun, and good luck!
maybe you have installed some applications that starts from the boot (grub). try to find out what and stop them or uninstall them. i had a similar problem with firestarter.
