Are you using the LiveCD or a HD install?
Hi, I have a problem when I try to configure a static IP address in BT3. I use ifconfig to assign it to the NIC and it works fine but after reboot the settings are lost.
I tryed to make a configuration file called "interfaces" in the /etc/nework/ but it didn´t work, after reboot the NIC calls DHCP for an IP address.
How can I make this setting stable?
Please excuse me if the question is too much dumb but I´m noob in linux.
Thank you.

I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.
I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
Excuse me. I forgot to say that I´m running BT3 installed in HD, in a VMWare station.
Thank you.
What mode do you have the VMWare interface set to? Bridged, NAT etc

We do NOT allow external links. We only allow "internal" links to our forums. See PM's.
I use bridged mode. Using ifconfig I can configure TCP/IP settings and everything works fine, but after reboot the configuration is lost.
Thank you.
