    Default Static IP

Hi, I have a problem when I try to configure a static IP address in BT3. I use ifconfig to assign it to the NIC and it works fine but after reboot the settings are lost.
I tryed to make a configuration file called "interfaces" in the /etc/nework/ but it didnīt work, after reboot the NIC calls DHCP for an IP address.
How can I make this setting stable?
Please excuse me if the question is too much dumb but Iīm noob in linux.
    Thank you.

Are you using the LiveCD or a HD install?

What mode do you have the VMWare interface set to? Bridged, NAT etc

I use bridged mode. Using ifconfig I can configure TCP/IP settings and everything works fine, but after reboot the configuration is lost.
    Thank you.
