YA DONT SAY.... well heres what i did instead of trying to get bt3 to run in a windowed linux emulator:
1. said screw it
2. installed as bootable usb prog and ran as full linux os :*(

Getting BT on Pendrivelinux
So quick question.... Im dling the bt3 currently and im emulating linux in a window through my pendrive linux program and i was wondering... is this the same as a usb install would be? all i need to do is click on the batch file then set the linux boot to the /boot file?

You have to be a little more patient that 22 hours m8. Not everyone gets a response right away. And some don't even get a response. I'd of helped ya, but I don't know jack crap about emulating Linux on Windows except through VMware. And I only know very little about USB installs.
But to answer your original question, (and I'm just guessing) I'd say yea it should be the same type of install, but theres a "special" install somewhere in the BT3 area (or possibly the tutorials section). Look for it and try it out.

WILL DO XPLOITZ! thanks very much. ill look for this special way. the only reason i am trying to run bt through an emulation is because my effin bios wont boot from usb and i want a more stable version of backtrack rather then have it on a cd/dvd that could get scratched.
