my apt-get is broken

Hi,

I seem to have broken my apt-get as I can nolonger get updates. When I do apt-get update it doesn't seem to download anything. I have tried apt-get clean and then apt-get update but nothing downloads. I used synaptic to reinstall apt but the problem remains. Can you please give me some pointers on how to troubleshoot this?

Was this after initial install of Backtrack 4 Final?

Maybe it isn't broken after all. I tried my other BT4 install (no changes other than updates) and no updates are showing up there either. The last update was on 1-28-2010 (autoscan).
