    Sorry guys!!!

I had to change my IP address on my FTP account to do some tweaks to it...,...then change it back to the original IP.

I had you guys behind my firewall. Maybe now you'll have faster speeds I hope.

    Same ftp address...

    76.183.214.34

I edited my original post as well to reflect the change. SAME username and pass.

Anyway i help you seeding it

Yea, sorry bout that one as well. As you probably already well know, when a torrent is first introduced.....its slow as hell. As soon as more peers connect and start downloading...it will speed up DRAMATICALLY. Be patient...and thanks for helping me seed.

I'm adding my laptop with another exact copy to add a seed to help speed up things as I speak. So in about 10 minutes from now you guys on torrent should notice a faster dl speed.

Ok guys, here's my latest update. I'M going to tear down my FTP tomorrow it looks like. Why????>>>>>

TORRENT is now fairly well seeded and fast enough. Reports show that average d/l speed of my torrent is at 150-250 KB/s. With only 4 seeds, and 2 other people about to finish as I speak.

Get this copy of BT3 on DVD ISO while you can while the torrent speeds are good!!!

Xploits, I really want to thank you for all the hard work you do [especially for us Linux newbs], I genuinely appreciate it. I don't think yall get enough credit, and I'm sure a little "thank you" goes a long way! Thanks man

I'm downloadin' the torrent now and it's goin' at about 150k/s which isn't a big deal 'cause I'm about to go to bed, so I'll let it seed overnight.

    Ive got an problem Xploit.

Everytime i boot up your CD and choose the KDE configuration my computer just hangs up, and ive tried to burn 2 DVD discs now and in 1x speed and verify to now that i not have burned to fast. I have checked the md5 sum to and it was the same as yours.

But one thing is really good with the KDE on your disc, i can finally boot with my Ubiquiti SRX Express Card without that the Kernel is chrasing Only to bad that KDE hangs up a few minutes after its started.

Do u maybe now a way to come around this?

Thanks!! Well, to explain my ftp server, I had over 50 connections from about 15 people on my ftp...and it got a little overloaded. All I have is a 100Mbps cable line, but when only 1 or 2 people are on it...the speeds are awesome.

Hey Munkey106. Been a long time since I've heard from you. Where ya been?? Not that "other" forum I hope!!!

Thanks for offering to help seed it, and THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your genuine thanks. I like helping no0bes because I was helped so very VERY much here by the community when I first signed up here....and I want to return the favor to all the no0bs now that I've gotten so good at using Back|Track. Its people like you Munkey106 that take the time to just say a sincere thanks, that makes me want to keep up my contributions.

Well, I can tell you 2 things for sure....

1.) When I downloaded the original copy of the USB Version (Extended) from http://backtrack.unixheads.org/ (a mirror according to http://www.remote-exploit.org/backtrack_download.html) ......I verified the md5 and it was an EXACT match. Now when I edited the make_iso.bat so that Win XP could "follow" it,....I batched the files and made the DVD with the command make_iso.bat c:\BT3.iso ...it made my ISO image for nero to burn. I took that image and booted it on my desktop....and tried and tested it out. All the boot choices I tried worked. Then I made a new md5 for the ISO file so you and other people could verify that your d/l was a 100% genuine "copy" of my E-Z DVD ISO. So if your md5 matches mine...the problem lies somewhere on your end unfortunately.

What do you mean by KDE "hangs up for a few minutes after its started"???....does it still boot so you can see the desktop?? Is it a black screen??

A suggestion or 2 for ya Jacob,

1.) I don't know if bt3 will allow cheat codes or not, (I haven't had a chance to test that yet)...but if it does...try one or 2 of them from below,....

    Boot Cheat Codes

Boot codes or Cheat codes are parameters you can add during boot to syslinux to alter the behavior of Backtrack. Boot codes must start with "bt" (e.g. bt nodhcp) at the boot prompt. Below you can find some of them.
    bt acpi=off

skip acpi hardware detection in the case of hangups. Only way I could get my laptop (HP zv-6000 also worked on my HP pavilion Home entertainment pc) to boot without black screen (Also needed for Dell Inspiron B130 Laptop).
    dbt

dbt (instead of bt) Dual processor/core support. If you get SQUASHFS errors, you can't use dual core support.
    bt irqpoll

use "bt irqpoll" if shows no PCI interrupts & disabling cardbus in dmesg (e.g. using ubiquiti SRC card)
    bt noagp

skip agp hardware detection in the case of hangups.
    bt nodhcp

This option prevents your network adapters from using DHCP[1] during the boot process.
    bt nohd

When you plan to do forensic work, you should boot using "bt nohd" to prevent automounting hard disks.
    bt nopcmcia

skip pcmcia hardware detection in the case of hangups.
    bt nosound

    Start with sound level 0%
    bt changes=/dev/device

All changes you made in BT are kept in memory until you reboot. But with this boot parameter, you tell BT to use a different device than memory for storing changes. You can, for example, format your disk partition /dev/hda1 with some Linux filesystem (eg. ext2) and then use changes=/dev/hda1 to store all changes to that disk. This way you won't loose your changes after reboot.

Surely 1 or a combo of them will solve your problem......also have you tried pressing Control Alt NumLock + (the plus sign) when you get the hang after typing startx or whatever??? That usually fixes all screen problems. You may have to press it a couple of times though like I did on my desktop.

ALso...try booting with the other boot-up options like booting with compiz and the other choices...one of them has bound to work for you...if not,...please post back here and post your EXACT commands and choices and describe EXACTLY whats going on to me / us...and maybe I / we can help you.

I know the torrent d/l works cause I burned a copy of it as well and it booted up my desktop just fine. I truly hope you can solve this problem your facing.
