FTP Server and Backtrack
Hello Ladies and Gents,
I have a relatively basic question...is there a ftp server in BT2, or do I have to install one? I know there are clients like curl, and native cli ftp, but I would like to be able to configure an ftp server locally in order to transfer files to my BT machine for testing...If there is a post that I couldn't find - which contains an answer - please be so kind to point me in that direction....
Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance for your assistance!

Yes all linux has ftp by default I believe. BT2 has a tftp server which is very use full for transferring files. It is under services in the kde menu. Otherwise filezilla is easily compiled on bt if you would rather have one of those pretty GUI thingies.

Thanks for your reply...
I knew of 'tftp' but I wanted to use ftp - in order to mimic previous firewall testing I had done. I ended up installing vsftp which worked like a charm.
