Not sure what happened. You know I wouldn't just echo what you said just to see myself type. Oh well hopefully the kid got the info he needed.
Just for future reference even if you do not have a HD install you can put the kernel .lzm in your bt folder and then reburn your .iso and they will be there.
Oh, I know that bro.![]()
I was only pointing out that there is a forum delay or something. It happens every once in a while...and shortly after, usually the forum goes off-line for a couple of hours. I might want to report this to Re@lity in case something happens. Might be related somehow?? Or a type of early warning that the forums is going off-line?![]()

I have HDD bt3 install to sda3 .. i formatted it and wiped bt2 completely b4 installing bt3.
what are kernel headers and how I install them? are they diff libraries required for compilation of code? which ones do I need for my current 2.6.21.5 version?
thanx so much for helping out
Thanx! updating kernel to 2.6.4 failed ... but I was able to compile madwifi drivers with current kernel by adding
make KERNELPATH=/usr/src/linux-2.6.21.5
(sry, my 1st week with Linux, aparently there is a README with instructions![]()
Has there been any reports as to diminished power with the madwifi driver update? I'm not certain, maybe it's because of the last eclipse, but I'm not getting the net sum of access points in Kismet that I had prior to the driver upgrade.
Previously, I had Kistmet running for 20 hours and I had at least 25 access points in the vicinity all from my couch (I'm in an apartment building)
After the upgrade I haven't done a site survey, but then as of tonight I've noticed I'm getting maybe 10 of those on the atheros - when the internal Intel card is getting 18...
Is there a knob that I missed that turns it all the way up to 11 or something?
EDIT: Nevermind - found my answer. Ubiquiti seems to be rather **itty... http://forums.remote-exploit.org/showthread.php?t=6404
