    Server options: none
    Client options: none
    Starting server...
Waiting for server to start before starting VI...
Suid priv-dropping disabled. This may not be secure.
No specific sources given to be enabled, all will be enabled

    search /etc/kismet/kismet.conf

    find the line called "sources"
edit with your card and uncomment it....

    restart kismet

it's because kismet need to know your card....

This question gets asked about once a week. Hopefully we can sticky-fy this thread!

Would the Backtrack for Dummies manual explain how to crack WEP?
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.
