Hello Dear Community, I really don't want to end up in the ''Idiots Corner'',
even though my question(s) might belong there.

So, i just received my Alfa USB-Adapter with a 9dbi Antenna.
As I googled around and searched around, I just couldn't get some
easy stuff to begin with the whole aircrack - backtrack thing.
I started trying around with the BT3 live cd, but that was it.

So I thought some helpful hands could give me a helping hint,
where i should start best with IT ALL.

First of all, use the vmware version, or the usb version, it works much smoother/faster.
if you got one of them running , u can try type spoonwep in a shell window (only for wep keys)

Try using 1) the search function of this forum 2) the Aircrack-ng tutorials 3) Google or search engine of your pref.

Great, just did that yesterday night (damn just 3h of sleep. lol almost sleepin @work). My vmware's running, i'll try to inject this evening.

But there are coming up some more questions in my 2 noobie neurons .
1. Is it normal that here in a pretty big city are from 20 WLAN's
just 1 or 2 WEP and the rest WPA? I don't want to crack them for sure.

so it doesn't annoy anyone
4. Am I right that there is still no possibilty to crack WPA via a comparable method as a WEP key? Will there ever be one?)

Hello another time,

So, I've started to test to crack my own WEP-Encryption WLAN.
I've done airodump-ng to find out my channel and bssid.
Then I typed in my shell

airodump-ng -c 7 -w output --bssid 00:11:55(cant remember) wlan0

there are a lot of beacons, and very fast, but it's not collecting any data,
and when i try to run aircrack on the fyle ''output'' it says there aint no file.
probably logic cause it has no data lol...

Is there any question in your post i missed?
As you've said on your own if there is no data, then aircrack can not crack anything

oh my gosh sorry for this stupid reply, i wanted to ask in fact WHY it doesnt collect any data? do you have any idea what the problem might be?

2. Downloaded a so called FBI_CD on some warez forum, it claims to be capable to crack WEP keys inwithin minutes, ever heard of it or any experiences?

oh my gosh sorry for this stupid reply, i wanted to ask in fact WHY it doesnt collect any data? do you have any idea what the problem might be?

- Make sure you are acting in monitor mode.
- There are no Clients connected to the AP , so there is in fact no data that can be collected.

- As pureh@te sais, re-read the forum rules and don't attempt to act illegal.
