I just tried to audit web site with w3af and i got bug report.I tried on laptop and desktop and on both i got bug report.Sometimesits report bug on start and sometimes later after couple of minutes.Her is report:

I use w3af_gui and w3af_console as well for webapp testing. Before every test I issue a 'svn up' command to update the w3af framework, have you tried this? If not give it a shot and I bet it will fix the errors you are getting.

Also is it just the gui that errors or the console as well?

I would suggest the same to update before you use not saying this solves all the problems but I know that the gui did crash on me a couple of times and after running an update w3af is working swell.
