Question btk2 on hd, but cant use cdrom....

hey, this is my first post on here. i have been googling and searching all day long on how to use my optical drive in bk2, with btk installed on hd. i am either retarded or just not exactly sure what i am looking for. i want to be able to install other programs and stuff on btk using my cd drive (since its installed on my hd now).
i am a total newbie starting 2 days ago. i somehow managed to triple-boot xp, mac, and btk2 on my hd from reading these forums, and just dont know what to do next.
    please help...

i opened konsole, inserted cd, then:

    mount -a

    and it says:

mount: devpts already mounted or /dev/pts busy

    then i go to:

    /mnt/hdc_cdrom

and it show nothing. is there something i screwed up?? thanks for being patient with me.
