it seems that when issuing the command
bt~#slapt-get --update
the sources fail to download. I have tried numerous fixes and have only been able to get one to work. If you have another one please submit it for testing. I simply took out the sources provided and put in the source for the new slacky repository. The file you need to change is called /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc and mine looks like thisI commented out the two that didnt work. Actually I tried numerous different ones from the get slacky site and none of them worked. then rerun and you should get something like this and you say yes and there you go.Code:# See /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.12a/example.slapt-getrc # for example source entries and configuration hints. I used the one that you used pureh@te none of them seemed to work.
also these are all "official slackware mirrors" provided from the slackware website.
I have also had the same problems with the md5 errors when using slapt-get.
Of course I could download and install some of the packages manually by going to the web and finding d/l etc but thats probably only going to work once for maybe two three different packages. lol
If any one has any other suggestions thanx!
also I will keep trying mirrors as i can add them to the slapt-getrc file.
but I dont think its the mirrors rather something else.
To be successful here you should read all of the following.

Just do what pure hate did it worked for me, quoted the sources that were failing and left the one posted by, "too lazy to press back and remember who it was lol" worked like a charm
archangel.amael please follow instructions carefully and don't rush m8. Put the repo in properly and it will work !Sources failed to download, correct sources and rerun --update

well by default i got errors on every link as well,
but what i did was manually upgrading to the latest slapt-get version
http://software.jaos.org/source/slap...0.9.10e.tar.gz
and after that it worked like a charm.
and on every url
edit:
on my other pc ( my main system)
i installed bt ass well, and got the error. without adapting the sources url, i installed the latest version, and again it works like a charm again
edit2:
i had to put my slapt-get n the exclude list, becsuse else i would upgrade to version 0.9.12.X....
and there the problem exists again
I'm using the version of slapt-get which BT3 delivers.
Testing a few several mirros does only prompt a few error messages.
But if i will use the darkside mirror i think this seems to work. It is just aren't able to download the signature but i think this would not change or do it?
My /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc is actually like thisCode:bt ~ # slapt-get --update Retrieving package data [http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/]...Done Retrieving patch list [http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/]...Done Retrieving checksum list [http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/]...Done Retrieving checksum signature [http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/]...Not Found Retrieving ChangeLog.txt [http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/]...Done Reading Package Lists...Done

But i will also update slapt-get to a newer version and check if it works better than now.
stay tuned.....
You are correct I upgraded to the newest slapt-get and every thing works. Posted on wiki with due credit to pjottrr
please also read my latest edit...
it looks like we are still not there....
anyway, it needs more testing.
what i did is upgrade everything, then it was broken again, i removed the just automaticly upgraded slapt-get version,
then reinstalled the 0.9.10 version, and now everything is suddenly up to date and i don't see any slapt-get updatable version.
edit:
never mind what i said about the automated update after slapt-get works...
i cannot reproduce it, so there is no bug.. at this moment
if someone still walks into it, just reinstall the manually installed version.
