    Default slapt-get

    it seems that when issuing the command

    bt~#slapt-get --update

    the sources fail to download. I have tried numerous fixes and have only been able to get one to work. If you have another one please submit it for testing. I simply took out the sources provided and put in the source for the new slacky repository. The file you need to change is called /etc/slapt-get/slapt-getrc and mine looks like this
    Code:
    # See /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.12a/example.slapt-getrc
    # for example source entries and configuration hints.
    WORKINGDIR=/var/slapt-get
    EXCLUDE=^kernel-.*,^alsa-.*,^glibc.*,.*-[0-9]+dl$,^devs$,^udev$,aaa_elflibs,x86$
    #SOURCE=ftp://carroll.cac.psu.edu/pub/linux/distributions/slackware/slackware-1$
    #SOURCE=http://software.jaos.org/slackpacks/12.0/
    SOURCE=http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0
    I commented out the two that didnt work. Actually I tried numerous different ones from the get slacky site and none of them worked. then rerun and you should get something like this and you say yes and there you go.
    Code:
    bt ~ # slapt-get --update && slapt-get --upgrade

    ok here is the output from my slapt-get --update

    So as you can see everyone of them failed to even update the packages.
    I used the one that you used pureh@te none of them seemed to work.
    also these are all "official slackware mirrors" provided from the slackware website.
    I have also had the same problems with the md5 errors when using slapt-get.
    Of course I could download and install some of the packages manually by going to the web and finding d/l etc but thats probably only going to work once for maybe two three different packages. lol

    If any one has any other suggestions thanx!

    also I will keep trying mirrors as i can add them to the slapt-getrc file.
    but I dont think its the mirrors rather something else.

    I've got a question I need some library's off the Slackware dvd i downloaded to compile some apps I need to compile. I'm pretty new but can I setup slapt-get to search my dvd for these library because the site don't carry allot of the packages on the cd/dvd

    This is what I tried
    Code:
    WORKINGDIR=/var/slapt-get
    EXCLUDE=^kernel-.*

    SOURCE=http://darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/
    SOURCE=ftp://mirrors.blueyonder.co.uk/sites/ftp.slackware.com/slackware-current
    #Tryed this to get packages off the DVD-Rom drive
    SOURCE=mnt/cdrom/
    SOURCE=file:///mnt/cdrom/

    Trigger I have no clue what you are trying to do it makes no sense however here is the repo for libraries. I hope you find what you need there or explain your situation a little better.

    SOURCE=mnt/cdrom/
    SOURCE=file:///mnt/cdrom/

    this simply makes no sense and will not work

    If you look in the slapt-get faq usually in:
    Code:
     /usr/doc/ slapt-get version number/FAQ
    you will find info about sources that can be used. Also check:
    Code:
     /usr/doc/slapt-get-0.9.12a/example.slapt-getrc
    for more info on valid sources YES you can use a dvd/cd/local file as the source if you so choose.

    In your slapt-getrc file you would edit the source list to point to your file and comment the other sources out so that it will pull from the local file only.

    Just remember that in Slackware/BT the dependencies are not installed for you,you must do this manually and it must be done first.

    Default Slapt-get / Gslapt - GPG Key verification failed

    Is anyone else having problems with the GPG Key verification ?

    darkstar.ist.utl.pt/slackware/addon/slacky/slackware-12.0/

    The repository was working fine for me last week, now for some reason I am having problems with the GPG Key not working. Even on a new USB install. Also a friend is having the same problem.
    In Gslapt, I keep getting a error:

    "GPG Key verification failed"

    If it is something on my end, can someone point me in the right direction for research on how to resolve the problem or fill me in with a solution.

    Thanks in advance

    What version of slap-get are you using ?
    Did you read the rest of this post ?
    It addresses several issues with slap-get in bt3 beta and it offers answers as well as solutions to the problem.

    Strange thing is i had a few problems with the GPG Key at work,
    but not at home as slapt-get works fine somehow.. Install GPG then
    (manually)
