Toshiba Satelilite pro 4600 display problems

Could be something i just dont know how to fix but the display will only show smaller in the center of the screen at 800*600 instead of 1024*768

I have tested this on 2 models

I have a Toshiba 4600 Pro, and my backtrack hangs up during the boot phase.
is there anything special you did to make it boot right, or should i make a new thread?
I don't want to give out a false non-working-hardware post, and really want to get the BT3Beta to work

Nope worked on both systems straight off its sitting beside me running quite happily.

Its the bottom end version with 750CPU and 128MB

Its only running on a live CD and it wont install.

might be the orinoco/hermes card driver?

heh, i get the same problem in live cd.... with a toshiba satellite a20 s103, trident cyberalladin video card... 800x600 and no 1024x768 settable.. just 640x480 as other option :S

allright, no problem.

try running
modprobe tridentfb

this will load the driver for your video card (trident cyberblade XP), which might solve the display error. do this BEFORE starting X (startx command), otherwise it will have no effect

Boot BT3 at my laptop, screen goes blank, and have no reaction. cannot use to reboot Ctrl+Alt+Del.

I tried text mode. it just stopped while ACIP shows up.

hope the final release version could fix this problem.
