The problem is you need to uncheck the little box at the bottom of the installer that says "restore previous mbr"
Hello,
I have a MB88-P-003 Packard Bell laptop.
BT3 works very well on it. I am having problems with the HDD install though.
I used Gparted (live-linux partitioning software) to make the partitions on my laptop HDD. I have Vista already on my laptop. (Viista is showing as sda2)
I Set up my partitions as follows:
1024MB for a SWAP partition (sda1)
and
7GB for ext partition (sda3)
I have used the Back|Track installer and isntalled the 'real' BT3 to sda3 and LILO to sda.
.............I boot up the computer and get Vista.
I then used the Gparted partitioning software to go into the Vista 'sda2' partition and unselect the 'boot' option.
..............I boot up the system.."No operating system found"
I then used Gparted again to select 'boot' for the BT3 'sda3' partition
..............Same thing, "No operating system found".

Has anyone else experienced this problem?
I have read all the things I can find on the forum but cannot find the magic answers anywhere to help me with the problems.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks alot,

I just got my laptop 2 weeks ago brand new.. so I don't think so.
I have never heard of that company you just mentioned.
If I could go back in time i would have bought an IBM Thinkpad.. them laptops kick ass. So small and portable. Great quality.
My laptop is on the front page of www(DOT)packardbell(dot)Com
It's the orange one (refresh screen if it show another colour) they have 3 versions of this limited edition laptop.
Wow!Now we can PWN in flavors. I'm partial to the coconut
