I'm having issues as well... tried the win bat first to no avail.... going to try the bootinst.sh next
If you are installing bt3 from linux or bt2 to a usb you will need to give three files permissions in order to runn the .sh lilo boot installer
/boot/inst.sh
/boot/syslinux/lilo
/boot/syslinux/syslinux
I am going to try and boot it right now. will report back.
EDIT: I'm having some issues with booting from usb as well. Will keep working on it

dd if=/dev/swc666 of=/dev/wyze
Heres what I did. Getting ready to reboot and give it a go
Edit this worked perfect
steps I took
Device san disk cruzer 2 gig
formated 1.5 gig fat32 and .5 linux swap
copied bt3 and boot folders to usb
gave the 3 files permisions I mention below
run installer
reboot
Note: I have only tried the kde menu selection but the dvd .iso compiz works so I assume it does of dvd.
Only issue- It seems the alfa drivers are not as good. Normally my alfa usb sees like 10 networks when I use the wlassistant but now it only sees mine.

I also have a 2GB SanDisk Cruzer USB, formatted the same 1.5GB FAT32 and the rest as swap and I cannot get the drive to become bootable using the DVD rar.
My MD5 is correct. I have copied both boot and bt3 to the root of the drive many different times and have tried both the Win bat and the bootinst.sh methods, and I still do not have a bootable USB (and yes I do have my BIOS set correctly as well!)![]()

I booted up BT3 cd with my usb drive in with the files already copied to it. Ran the ./bootinst.sh. Rebooted, took out the cd, and it booted off the usb drive. No problems here. It's freaking fast.
I felt like bending the bars back, and ripping out the window frames and eating them. yes, eating them! Leaping, leaping, leaping! Colonics for everyone! All right! You dumb*sses. I'm a mental patient. I'm *supposed* to act out!
I copied the files onto my usb drive and ran the bat from the cmd and it ran perfectly. No idea why you guys are having problems.

Surprise Surprise! lol I finally got dual boot working too. Yea! :-D
I thought Compiz was on the Usb install? I can't find it... maybe I'm read tall did.
Edit, nevermind, I'm a retard like I thought.
