Did you give it a try in a vmware and see if it boots in there?

    Thats quite odd indeed!!
Might want to consider trying to clean the laser on your dell c600's DVD ROM. Maybe that would help??

Just wanted to let everyone know how I did this:

I followed initial instructions, changing the .bat to represent BT3 in-place of SLAX

Before running make_iso.bat, I edited the properties for ../BT3/Tools/WIN/mkisofs.exe and under the Compatibility tab, checked the box next to "Run this program as an Administrator"

Opened up term, CD'd into BT3 dir, entered "make_iso.bat C:\BT3b.iso", and there you go

This effectively created the .iso without the annoying "...Permission...Denied..." error people were getting.

    Enjoy!!!

Default Making BT3 DVD ISO Using Vista

The easiest way (that worked for me) to make the DVD ISO using vista is...

First copy main folder (bt3b141207) c:\.
Second edit make_iso.bat (c:\bt3b141207\BT3\make_iso.bat) select all delete and paste this code:
    Code:
    @ECHO OFF

    REM ----------------------------------------------------
REM Batch file to create bootable ISO in Windows
    REM usage: make_iso.bat c:\new-slax.iso
    REM author: Tomas M. <linux-live.org>
    REM ----------------------------------------------------

    if "%1"=="" goto error1
    cd ..
    set CDLABEL=SLAX

    BT3\tools\WIN\mkisofs.exe @BT3\tools\WIN\config -o "%1" -A "%CDLABEL%" -V "%CDLABEL%" .
    goto theend

    :error1
echo A parameter is required - target ISO file.
    echo Example: %0 c:\target.iso
    goto theend

    :error2
echo Can't recreate isolinux.bin, make sure your current directory is writable!
    goto theend

    :theend
    echo.
echo New ISO should be created now.
    pause
Now open notepad and create a script with this code:
    Code:
    cd C:\bt3b141207\BT3
    make_iso.bat c:\bt3.iso
    pause
Save it as run.bat where ever you want c:\run.bat would be fine. All you have to do now is right click run.bat, run as administrator and would should be good to go... Once is done the iso will be created under c:\bt3.iso.

    Default Mac?

I'm trying to do this on a mac, so I tried the linux route (using make_iso.sh), but it can't find the command mkisofs. It seems the project has been discontinued so that doesn't really help me. Any suggestions?

i used this code and it work perfect for me.....i just edit the make_is.bat and used this code

    BT3\tools\WIN\mkisofs.exe @BT3\tools\WIN\config -o "%1" -A "%CDLABEL%" -V "%CDLABEL%" .

    and here the ouput

    Code:
    C:\BT3B14~1\BT3>make_iso.bat c:\bt3
    mkisofs 2.01 (i686-pc-cygwin)
    Scanning .
