You do realize that there is a link and a picture in the post right above yours on the 901's wireless card don't you?

    Well you probably do now.

I read most of the link before I posted and it didnt say anything about being a different card nor did it say anything about injecting.

Anyone know if the newer eeePc 901 is going to be as well supported?

I'm a total newbie when it comes to linux. Will i manage with this?

We don't have much info on the Eee 901 yet but if it's wifi is capable of injection it should be fine for BT3. BackTrack3 contains a wide collection of tools, many of which require a degree of linux understanding. While we support BT and it's tools (to some degree), we don't provide the prerequisite linux knowledge

just riding in the dining car on this one but

    http://www.slackbasics.org/10.2/pdf/...are-basics.pdf

would be a good book to read (linux distros tend to have gotchas based on which "mother distro" was used BT3 is based on and uses Slackware 12.0 packages)

I don't mean to bring up an old thread but there's a lot of users asking about the 901 if it works or not.

I'm here to say some of it does. I can get mine to boot into VESA KDE graphics mode only however and have not yet got the wireless card to work in wireless manager or showing up in the ifconfig or iwconfig commands.

I won't go in depth here but I did create a thread today with more information about what I noticed on first glance. Hopefully at least in that thread specifcally for the 901, the issues can be sorted out with fixes. I'm currently working with a guide I read in another thread to install the drivers, however since I'm running from a usb, none of the changes or installations will save. We'll see how things go.

Refer to the thread in the BT3 Final Support, the thread name is specific to the 901. I hope I'm not breaking any rules diverting attention to another thread. If so, mods im sorry, new here but thought I'd alert attention to those wanting to get the 901 up and running with BT3

Thanks guys, and any help is appreciated!
