hde: no response (status = 0x90) on boot

Hi all,

I am having some problems running BackTrack 2.0 Final, I received "hde: no response (status = 0x90)" error on the first boot of the Live CD.

I have confirmed the ISO Hash and it is correct, 99......etc.

I have two partitions on my Hard disk (C: & D, and a CD Drive (E in Windows. I'm just trying to run from CD (Back Track 2 Final Live) not install!

The error occurs after pages of configuration scrolling of display, usb, keyboard, mouse, ...etc.

An then some memory allocations (e.g. 0x27826-0x23723) or something similar on screen.

The the error "hde: no response (status = 0x90)". And just pauses there and then freezes (CPU Hang).

What is this error in regards to and how do I fix it?

Do you have any external hard drives plugged in or anything like that? Or is it a main internal hard disk that you are using?

Well I have tried it with the internal hard disk, 120GB Hitachi & at another instance have tried it with 2 External HDD's connected, with the same error message.

Thanks for your help but I'm not going to use BT2 now, BT3 beta worked first time.
