It looks similar to what we install on all K-12 student and lab computers in the school system where I work. The main difference is the students can do anything they want to the computer, format the HDD, delete the registry, etc. When the PC reboots everything is right back where it was before they touched it!

I have some chips that work like this. They're mounted on small pci boards.
You can designate directories to be permanently writeable, but the rest of the system will be reverted upon reboot.

I've never got around to looking at them properly.
I'll hook them out and post more info if it's of any interest?

I've seen them on ebay for a couple of £, not saying that they are the same thing although they claim to have the same capabilities. So if anyone want to try one out they are not expensive at all.

so if you can post more infos ... i was looking for that in order to incorporate a new layer of security on a semi public box , i use it in rave parties in order to let people mix in live online

and i noticed some bad changes on the machine.....

so i want to investigate this kind of "ghost layered os"

This is the sort of thing, but I have seen them cheaper before.

I tried to use sand boxie at one point but I found it easier to use a "dummy" virtual machine
