Does anyone knows how to get SAM file hashes from a Window's laptop running XP3 and with full disk encryption hard drive? I tried CHNTPW with BT4 R2 and it did not work. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

The short version is you will have to decrypt the hard drive BEFORE you use CHNTPW or samdump2.

Thanks bofh28! BTW you have created an excellent tutorial on the subject. If I my ask, is there a way to decrypt the hard drive on the Windows laptop remotely? One possible way could be to remotely connect a linux machine to the Windows machine (rdesktop user & password are known) and then TFTP SAM & Systems files to Linux machine. Thanks for the help

The best way would be to have the windows machine turned on and launch an attack against it using a remote Linux pc and metasploit. Or have the windows PC browse to a website of yours that you have exploit code on. Then you could run fdgump, pwdump, or gsecdump. The SAM and system files are not accessible when windows is running.
