Hard drive problem with installing backtrack

ok so i have a problem ive made a usb bootable bt2f flash drive but for some reason my laptop does not support usb flash drive booting

so i though id go with the next best thing..... a hard drive installation but heres where the problem is

i do the unmounting and start qtparted it says theres a error but thats because of my cd hardware..... so i go stright to hda1(i think thats what it is) for my hard drive thats have window installed on it....but when i try to create partitions for the back track install and boot it says that my hard drive is READ ONLY

so if anyone knows how i can change this do tell

or if you could point me in the right direction because ive googled it and couldnt find anything

OK so what you saying is that NTFS is not writeable once used


i want to dual boot to chose windows or backtrack though,,,, so if i were to do it just install backtrack first then windows or do i just reinstall windows in a differnt format
