I have no previous experience with cisco software in question so I can't point you directly at the problem. Have you checked the ssl settings?
Hi guru's,
I have some trouble with java webstart applications. I'm trying to run Cisco ASDM 6.0.
I have Java JRE 1.5.0_14 and JRE 1.6.0_03 installed. I also installed javaws and bounded it to either of the versions of java. Then I tried to run the asdm.jnlp program.
Now I get the following error from webstart:
JNLPException[category: Download Error : Exception: javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderE xception: unable to find valid certification path to requested target : LaunchDesc: null ]

I have accepted the certificate of the site within firefox.
Can someone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks in advance.

I have seen some Java apps only work in IE, and nothing else. Most notably is HP's WebJetAdmin. I wouldn't surprise me if something by Cisco was the exact same way.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.
I can run it in firefox (windows).
As I google it, it should work on linux. Is there a way to test a webstart application?
I'm a compulsive post editor, you might wanna wait until my post has been online for 5-10 mins before quoting it as it will likely change.
I know I seem harsh in some of my replies. SORRY! But if you're doing something illegal or posting something that seems to be obvious BS I'm going to call you on it.
Thanks, I'll try to install java 1.4 and try again.
