usb does not work

Hello!
I have a RT73 USB Wlan Adapter. Boot and so on all works fine, but when i insert my usb stick after booting nothing happens. normally there is a message like "high speed usb device inserted". but when i start dmesg there is no information about any connected usb device. in the beginning of the log there are 3 lines, that usb is started and so on. anyone knows whats wrong? seems like hotplug does not work for usb on my machine...

have amd dual core 6000+, 2gig, asus m2n4-sli mainboard

please help
