How do i Play DVD's in BT2?
I know it's got nothing to do with security but sometimes listening to kismet pinging and alarming or watching a packet count just doesn't entertaining me as much as it should. Is it possible to get a DVD to play on BT2 without screwing everything up? I had a brief search and all i could find were dirty ones..oops i mean i couldn't find very much info, I'm not sure if it's even a good idea to try?

Probably the best place to start would be vlc media player.

Fail: it says " executing install script" then dumps back to shell? no explanation or errors just doesn't do anything?
After searching the faq's and stuff i worked out all i had to do was use BT2' media player to play DVD's, just have to
chmod 666 /dev/hda (I guess in my case hda is my DVD)
problem now is, mplayer only plays the intro and doesn't have a next title or menu. But i got around that by opening the .vob files
mplayer sucks. You may have to compile VLC from source. choose a mirror from here and download.

Wait a minute does it s say fail or did you put that in there. If it excecutes and you see nothing and goes back to the prompt then it installed fine.

Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69
^^ will VLC be instaled into the same directory that you issue the installpkg command from? or does it install the files into the appropriate "bin" directories in the filesystem?
also, does installpkg add entries to the KDE menu?
I ask because whenever I have installed apps using ./configure make && make install, the files have only been installed/compiled into the directory where I issued the commands from.
