Ath0 interface dead after Kismet adventures - help please
I have BT2 and Kismet and aircrack-ng working fine. I can bounce back and forth in monitor mode between Kismet and aircrack-ng and do all sorts of tricks. But after leaving kismet and wrapping up adventures with aircrack-ng I am unable to get ath0 back in management mode.
I have tried it all, I think, with:
modprobe e100
iwconfig ath0 mode Management (which does nothing except produce an error that that command is not acceptable. iwconfig ath0 mode monitor works, though)
When I then bring down ath0 with:
ifconfig ath0 down
I cannot bring it back up and receive the error:
ath0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No such device
If I reboot BT2 ath0 returns, but I must reboot.
Anybody have any suggestions?

the link above has a nice list of commands look towards the end it has the following:
Changing modes:
ifconfig athx down (Take the VAP down)
wlanconfig athx destroy (Destroy the VAP, athx)
wlanconfig athx create wlandev wifi0 wlanmode [sta|adhoc|ap|monitor] (Create a new sta, adhoc, ap or monitor VAP)
Sincerely,

PS I saved that to my machine in case i forget and cant get connection to look it up again.

You could have found a list of commands for wired and wireless cards right here on the forum.

Thanks for everyone's replies. The list of wireless commands in this forum are not the ones I eventually need, which were kindly provided by default member. They are the MadWifI commands which did the trick. Thank you Default.
