Thats possably one of the funniets things I've seen in a while!!

I installed Ubuntu 7.10 last night it looks like monitor mode isn't supported with the current Gelic driver. I gave airmon a go, it came back with
    Code:
    Interface Chipset Driver

eth0 Unknown Unknown (MONITOR MODE NOT SUPPORTED)
    lspci -vvv comes back with

    Code:
    pcilib: Cannot open /proc/bus/pci
lspci:Cannot find any working access method.
Best thing I could come up with is that the Hypervision doesn't just hide the RSX graphics card, but most all pci information. lshw -C netork didn't come back with much on eth0 either. No chipset info, just the generic runtime info
    Code:
    *-network
    description: Wireless interface
    physical id: 1
    logical name: eth0
    serial: 00:15:c1:c8:1f:f1
    capacity: 1GB/s
    capabilities: ethernet physical wireless tp 10bt 10bt-fd 100bt 100bt-fd 1000bt 1000bt-fd autonegotiation
    configuration: autonegotiation=on broadcast=yes driver=Gelic Network Driver driverversion=1.0 duplex=half ip=192.168.1.102 link=yes multicast=yes port=twisted pair wireless=IEEE 802.11b
I need to find out the Chipset info on this WiFi card so I can start searching for a driver that I can hack up to put this thing into monitor mode. I posted on PSubuntu, Yellodog, Aircrack and here. As far as I know I'm the first one who's botherd trying to getting Airocrack suite to work on the ps3. Anyone feel like helping?

Then it's not really running on a ps3. It's running in an emulated 586. I could probably get it running in qemu on my Zaurus if I tried hard enough. It'd probably take a week to boot though.
Of course, if you really wanted to have some fun, go to Wal-Mart late at night and ask the greeter if they could help you find trashbags, roll of carpet, rope, quicklime, clorox and a shovel. See if they give you any strange looks. --Streaker69

A better question would be, how to get the backtrack security tools running on yellow dog linux?

Thread has long died out man. Don't expect to get a response from the OP; you'd be better off taking it up yourself if you want to get it going.
