I have a 1501 also and report no problems.
I see the ACPI issue has also been resolved so it doesn't need a the "acpi=off" boot parameter

Agares, download the ATI driver. My 1501 has the ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 Chip.

^^ installing that driver should sort out your graphics issues.
EDIT: I had this driver saved from BT3 and installed it on bt4f which borked X.
I'd backup your configs before installing any ATI drivers.
On that note, Im not sure which ati driver bt4f comes with but I've had no problems out of the box and have compiz working etc.
